If you are living in a foreign country where you can not find good resources to learn the English language as your secondary language, you might want to figure out the best alternatives you have to learn English which are effective and cheap at the same time. There are many alternatives that you can use while learning the language, but the most effective alternative is to learn English from CDs.

You might want to compare learning through CDs to the traditional language schools. It is hard to find a person with a decent accent in a foreign country. They may have good command over the language and a nice accent too, but nothing beats the original. You have to take the help of a native speaker if you want effective and fast results.

Another option available for you is textual books and printed material that can provide the same content and flexibility to decide your own hours of study. But with every language learning book, you get an audio book in the form of a CD. This is because of the fact that pronunciation of a particular word, accent and tone of voice can not be taught in the form of textual materials. You will have to hear the voice and grab the exact tone and accent of a native speaker to learn it. Therefore at any cost, you are going to learn these language elements by a CD.

Do not skip lessons because they are contextually connected to each other. If you skipped a lesson by mistake, listen to it again and again so as to understand it clearly. Always try to visualize every lesson so that you can easily practice it.

The advantages of learning with digital media like CDs is that you get a full language learning course that is portable and it is cheaper from the language schools too. It even enables you learn pronunciation without having to leave your house for your classes. Therefore, this method is effective, cheap and works great as well!

However, there are some things you need to keep in mind when using learn English CD type products.

Decide the study hours according to your convenience, but do not waste them in any other thing thinking that you have the alternative to listen that particular lesson at some other time.

Be consistent in your approach and concentrate on taking regular lessons. The practice session is important, so do not miss it at any cost. If, due to some problems, you are not able to take the lesson as you scheduled, you can hear it again and practice it with the same pace you had before you skipped it. Following a planned approach will yield greater results in short amount of time and you will be able to understand and use English easily.
